Irrigation Installation That Waters Your Lawn and Beds Evenly

Sprinkler and Drip Systems for Northeast Georgia Properties

Our irrigation installation puts water where your lawn and plants need it, in the right amount. A well-planned system helps prevent dry brown patches and soggy low spots. We lay out zones so grass, shrubs and flower beds each get their own schedule. The controller runs the schedule for you.

Weather Tech Roofing is based in Elberton. We install irrigation for homes and businesses in Athens, Hull and Bowman. We put in systems across Northeast Georgia, often alongside a new sod lawn or landscape. One team can build the yard and the system that waters it.

What's Included

Our Sprinkler System Installation, Zone by Zone

We plan the layout first, based on sun, slope and what is planted. Lawn areas get spray or rotor heads set so their patterns overlap. Beds get drip lines that soak the soil slowly at the roots. Irrigation zones laid out this way give Northeast Georgia yards even water in dry summer weeks.

How Even Coverage Helps Your Lawn and Landscape

Deeper Roots From Fewer, Longer Waterings

Lawns grow best with long soakings once or twice a week in dry weather. Light daily sprinkling keeps roots shallow and weak. A timed system makes that deep, steady schedule easy to keep.

Trenching, Wiring and Testing the System

Before trenching, buried utility lines are marked for free through Georgia 811. We lay pipe, set heads and wire each zone to the controller. Then we run each zone and adjust the heads. Water should cover the area without hitting the house or street.

Setting Run Times Within Georgia Watering Hours

Georgia's normal watering hours run from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m., so we set the controller to run then. New plantings get a 30-day exception, and drip lines are exempt.

Lawns, Beds and Slopes That Need Landscape Irrigation

A new sod lawn is a natural time to add irrigation, before grass covers the ground. Shrub and flower beds do well on drip lines that keep water off the leaves. Sloped yards need shorter run times so water does not race downhill. Business owners use irrigation to keep entry beds watered without daily hand work.

Shade and sun change how much water each part of a yard uses. A sunny lawn dries out faster than a bed under trees. Putting them on separate zones keeps one area from drowning while another stays dry. Each zone gets its own run time instead of one schedule for the whole yard. Weather Tech Roofing can add irrigation to new landscaping or an existing yard.

  • New sod lawns that need steady water while roots set
  • Shrub and flower beds watered by low-flow drip lines
  • Sloped yards where short cycles keep water from running off
  • Commercial lawns and entry beds watered on a set schedule

How much water does a lawn need each week in Georgia?

Most lawns grow best with about 1 inch of water a week. That total counts rain plus what the sprinklers add. In dry spells, give it in one or two deep soakings.

What time of day can you run sprinklers in Georgia?

Georgia's normal watering hours for landscapes run from 4 p.m. to 10 a.m. Early morning is a good choice, since less water is lost to heat and wind. New plantings, drip lines and private wells have exceptions under state rules.

Do I need a rain sensor on my sprinkler system?

A rain sensor is a wise add-on for any automatic system. It shuts off watering after rain, so you do not water a soaked yard. UGA Extension recommends them as a simple way to save water.

Should my lawn and flower beds be on the same zone?

No, lawns and beds work better on separate zones. Grass uses spray or rotor heads, while beds do well with slow drip lines. Each zone can then get the water it needs.

How can I tell if my sprinklers water evenly?

Set a few rain gauges or straight-sided cans in the zone. Run it for an hour. Then compare how much water each one caught. Big differences mean some heads need adjusting.
