Siding Services That Shield Your Walls From Coastal Weather

Protecting Walls on Homes and Buildings Along the Gulf Coast

Our siding services keep wind, rain and sun off the walls of your home or building. We install new siding, replace worn siding and repair damaged pieces. We work in vinyl and fiber cement. Fiber cement is a hard board made from cement, sand and wood fibers. Siding is the wall's outer layer, so we look after the flashing behind it too.

Our main storefront is in Pensacola. We handle siding in Pace, Navarre and Gulf Breeze, and across Northwest Florida and Coastal Alabama. Our team has spent a lifetime on this coast. We know what storms and salt air do to the outside of a house.

Is your siding cracked, loose or worn out? Call us or send a request to talk with our team. We keep you informed from the first consultation to the final trim piece.

Exterior Siding Work We Do: Install, Replace and Repair

Every siding job starts with the wall behind it. Rotted sheathing gets replaced before new siding goes up, since siding should never cover rot. Then flashing and a water barrier go on before the panels or planks. Siding on Gulf Coast houses must stand up to sun, damp air and storm wind.

How Vinyl and Fiber Cement House Siding Protect Your Walls

A First Line Against Wind-Driven Rain

Siding sheds much of the rain before it reaches the wall. Some water still gets behind it in hard, sideways rain. The water barrier and flashing behind the siding carry that water back out. Together, these layers help keep the wood frame dry.

Fastening Vinyl Loose and Fiber Cement Snug

Vinyl panels hang loosely on nails centered in their slots. Fiber cement planks are nailed snug against the wall instead. Fiber cement then gets paint or comes with a factory finish. Its joints and trim gaps get sealant.

Rinse Off Salt and Mildew With a Hose

Wash siding with a garden hose and soft brush to clear salt, dirt and mildew. Coastal homes need this kind of upkeep more often than inland ones.

Siding Contractor Work on Older Homes, New Builds and Storm-Hit Walls

Worn or faded siding on an older home can hide soft wood. New builds and additions need siding that matches the look of the house. After a storm, we fix torn or missing pieces and check the wall behind them. Some owners switch to fiber cement for a heavier board they can paint. Others pick vinyl because it does not need paint.

What we find behind the siding sets the size of the job. Soft, rotted sheathing gets cut out and replaced before any new siding goes on. Torn or missing water barrier gets patched or replaced. A wall with only small damage may need just a few new pieces. Our roofing and siding contractor team can also explain how vinyl compares to fiber cement.

  • Faded or brittle vinyl siding on older houses
  • Worn wood siding ready to switch to fiber cement
  • Siding for new homes, additions and garages
  • Panels cracked by hail or torn loose by storm wind

Will fiber cement siding burn?

No, fiber cement will not ignite when exposed to a direct flame, according to James Hardie. It also resists dents from wind-blown storm debris.

What styles of vinyl and fiber cement siding can I choose from?

Vinyl comes in single, double and triple lap, Dutch lap, board and batten, and vertical styles. Fiber cement comes in smooth and wood-grain textures.

What causes vinyl siding to buckle or wave?

Vinyl usually buckles when it was nailed too tight to move. Panels grow and shrink with heat. Nails belong in the middle of the slots, with a little play. The fix is refastening the panels so they can slide.

Does new siding mean new trim and flashing too?

Often, yes. Old trim and flashing around windows, doors and roof lines may be worn or missing. New siding works best when those pieces are flashed and sealed along with it.

When does damaged siding need replacing instead of repair?

Replacement makes sense when damage spreads across a wall or the wood behind it has rotted. A few cracked or loose pieces can usually be swapped out on their own.
